Erin Pettey
I'm a 17 year old photography 1 student at Neuqua Valley. I shoot with a Nikon D3200. I really enjoy shooting portraiture the most because I find it fun to photograph people. It really inspires me when people tell me their story so I can then shot to try and tell their story. I've wanted to take photography since my sophomore year when I received my camera for Christmas. My favorite project this semester was definitely my 5 Stages of Grief project. For this project my model and I went to a cemetery and shot in the views of the 5 stages of grief. My personal aesthetic is definitely brightly colored, pictures of interesting people. When people look at my work I want them to see emotion on the faces of my models. I want them to understand the happiness, and love. Or the depression and longing. I want them to be able to see a story. Taking pictures is important to me because I want to be able to tell a story with my work. I want others to feel something when they look at my work. My photography skills and creativity have definitely gotten better over the course of this class. I will definitely continue to take pictures after this class. I really enjoy photography and I like being able to use it in a story telling way. MY photographs mean a lot to me. Photography is something really important to me. I want people to be able to understand what they haven't experienced. I want them to feel something from my photos. |
